Make some good trouble with us and help save Fresno’s Public Libraries from censorship and government overreach by participating in our ‘Civil Obedience’ Campaign!
The Fresno County Board of Supervisors wants us to report *all* books in the Fresno County Library children's section that potentially contain "sexual writings, sexual references, sexual images, gender-identity content, and other sexual content," and we are followers of the law. However, the terms "gender identity" and "sexual content" are so broad and so subjective as to be nearly meaningless.
Thus, this form will help you to report any and all books that potentially refer to gender or sex. Gender identity is everywhere, and we must all be on our guard! Be sure to report any library books that refer to boys or girls today; we don't want our kids to be indoctrinated by fearsome "gender identity content"!!
Cut and paste the sample letter below, and replace the XXXXXX’s with the book titles and authors that might have “gender identity content” or “sexual references” and need to be reviewed for age-appropriateness.
Dear Board of Supervisors:
Pursuant to the newly passed 'Parents Matter' Act, I feel compelled to report to you and the following books, which may be found on the shelves of the children's sections of our public library. According to the Resolution passed by the Board of Supervisors, books that contain any "gender-identity" content are potentially age-inappropriate and must be reviewed by your new Committee. I submit to you these titles for review:
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Pursuant to Section 4, Subsection d of the 'Parents Matter' act as passed, "all materials currently in circulation that have been brought to the attention of the review board by members of the public and/or Library staff and which may be subject to the provisions of this Resolution" must be reviewed at the first possible Committee meeting. I note that, as written and passed, the Resolution does not specify that the submissions needed to have been made prior to its passing; only prior to the formation of the committee, and thus my contributions must, by law, be included for review.
This email serves as my submission of these books to the review board. Each book clearly contains what I personally feel to be either "gender identity" content, "sexual references," or "sexual content." As a member of the concerned public, I have become aware that the fad of having "gender" is everywhere, and our children must be protected from it! I do not want my children (or other parents' children) to accidentally come upon some book about being a boy, or a movie about being a girl. Gender is insidious and we must do all we can to protect the children.
As the Committee meeting will be subject to Brown Act regulations, I look forward to hearing the discussion of the members regarding these books, and making public comment regarding it. Additionally, I will be glad to have a legal record established as to what constitutes what kind of "gender identity" is deemed appropriate by your direct appointees as representatives of the government, and what sorts are deemed inappropriate and are thus subject to separate (but presumably equal, yes?) accommodations in our public library.
Sincerely,
